SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center has been selected to participate in the Rural Hospital Stabilization Program. The nationwide program helps rural hospitals improve financial stability by enhancing or expanding health care services that meet the community's needs.
Sanford Aberdeen will receive a set of financial and operational assessments for action and implementation plans to expand or introduce new service lines and help keep care close to home. The program provides funding for operational and equipment costs to support service line efforts.
"As a large rural hospital, we're continuously looking for ways to enhance the care and services offered for our patients," said Kila Legrand, administrator and CEO at Sanfored Aberdeen. "Eight hospitals were selected from across the country to participate in this year's cohort and we're excited for the opportunity to learn from other organizations and share our experiences while building a strong network of similar hosptials."
The Rural Hospital Stabilization Program is funded by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, a division of the Health Resources and Services Administraton. Services and technical assistance are managed and provided by the National Rural Health Resource Center.
