Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time)
Location: Aberdeen, SD
Pay: $18–$22/hr
Job Type: Part-time

About Us Opus ABA is a new ABA therapy practice serving families and children with autism in the Aberdeen area.

The Role We need a sharp, personable representative on the ground in Aberdeen — someone who can walk into a room, start real conversations, and build lasting relationships with both professionals and families. This is not a "stand at a table and smile" role. We need someone who can explain what ABA therapy is, connect with the right people, collect leads, and follow up.

What You'll Do

Professional & Business Outreach — Represent our practice at Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce events (Business After Hours, Abby Awards, Field to Fork, Community Block Party, Chamber Connections) — Build relationships with pediatricians, school special education departments, hospitals, therapists, and nonprofits — Network with business leaders and community organizations — Staff our table at networking events and coordinate ribbon cuttings, sponsorships, and marketing opportunities

Family & Community Connections — Connect directly with families of children with autism and special needs in the Aberdeen area — Attend parent support groups, school events, and community activities where families gather — Be a warm, trusted first point of contact for families who may benefit from ABA services — Partner with local autism advocates and organizations to raise awareness and build trust

Marketing & Follow-Up — Help manage our presence in local media and advertising — Distribute information at community events, NSU, schools, clinics, and local businesses — Track contacts, follow up with leads, and report back on opportunities — Identify partnerships that help families access ABA services

Who You Are — You live in or near Aberdeen and know the community — You're outgoing, warm, and comfortable talking to anyone — from a school principal to a parent at a support group to a hospital CEO — You can clearly explain what ABA therapy is and why it matters for families — You're organized enough to track events, follow up with contacts, and keep things moving — You're comfortable in professional settings — you'll be speaking with doctors, administrators, and business leaders, not just handing out flyers — Experience in healthcare, education, social work, or nonprofit outreach is a plus — Personal connection to autism or special needs families is a plus

Details — Part-time, flexible hours (approximately 15–25 hours/week) — Mix of daytime meetings, evening networking events, and community activities — Based in Aberdeen, SD — this is an on-site, in-the-community role — $18–$22/hr depending on experience
