The Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that we have confirmed Burt Chojnowski for our 2014 Annual Meeting,which is set for Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel.
Burt's keynote will focus on How to Attract the Best Workforce – finding out what the best workers are looking forward in a community and a local business culture and Place-making - how to harness our community's entrepreneurial talents and assets to improve the quality of life and makeAberdeen more attractive for young people and entrepreneurs.
The Annual Meeting Schedule includes:
5:00 pm 2014 Leadership Aberdeen Class Graduation Ceremony in the theatre.
6:00 pm Networking Social including heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages
7:00 pm Brief Chamber program with dessert and coffee served at the table.
7:30 pm Keynote by Burt Chojnowski
8:30 pm Evening Concludes
Over the last thirty years, Burt has been a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and investment banker. Burt has experience in the formation and development of successful companies in the telecommunications, computer software, media, alternative energy, government securities, fundraising and oil & gas brokerage industries. He wrote "Turning Fairfield Iowa into a Rural Renaissance City" for the International Economic Development Council Journal. He is the editor of the Fairfield Edge Magazine that describes the success stories and principals of economic gardening in Silicorn Valley - Fairfield, Iowa. The National Council of Small Communities named Fairfield, Iowa the top entrepreneurial city in 2003 and In 2004 Fairfield was named "entrepreneurial community of the year" by the Community Vitality Center. Burt was named "Rural Entrepreneurial Practitioner of the Year" in 2005.He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of BrainBelt Consulting.
